History -
The all-volunteer, 501(C)3
non-profit Maywood Station
Historical Committee was formed in
May 2002 to save, restore and
preserve the 1872-built landmark New
York, Susquehanna & Western railroad
station in Maywood, NJ. The majority
of the restoration was concluded by
the membership during the summer of
2004. The station is now listed on
the National and New Jersey Historic
Registers. In September 2004, the
station was opened as a museum
covering railroad and local history.
The museum has acquired and restored
a caboose where additional displays
and an operating model train layout
are featured and New York,
Susquehanna & Western ALCO S-2
Locomotive #206, which is also
listed on the National and New
Jersey Historic Registers. Open Houses are
conducted periodically throughout
the year.

Artifacts from the 1870's through
the current day pertaining to
railroad and local history
Research Collections -
1000's of official railroad
drawings, photographs, ledgers,
tickets, waybills, timetables,
correspondence and artifacts
Educational Programs - Class trips, scouting tours, senior
tours, tours for other outside
organizations. Loaning of material
is made by the discretion of the
volunteer staff. No fees are
requested, donations are welcome.

Photo and Filming Inquiries - The Maywood Station Museum is available by appointment only for commercial photography and movie filming purposes and has become a popular location for wedding, engagement, modeling, and magazine photo shoots; advertising backdrops; film commercials; and movie shoots. Due to insurance reasons, PERMISSION MUST BE OBTAINED IN ADVANCE FROM THE MAYWOOD STATION MUSEUM AND THE NEW YORK, SUSQUEHANNA & WESTERN RAILWAY CORPORATION FOR ANY PROPOSED COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY OR FILMING AT THE STATION OR ON THE MUSEUM GROUNDS. The Maywood Station Museum also offers our own in-house photography and video services.
